Welsh choirs and concerts Two Sydney-based choirs sing Welsh songs in the language of the Land of Our Fathers and perform regular public concerts. ..................... Cantorion Sydney is a 50-strong male voice choir which practices each Wednesday at the Welsh Church - St Peter’s Presbyterian - at Blues Point Road, North Sydney. Guided by music director Dr John Lloyd, who is also the immediate past president of Cymdeithas Cymry, the choir’s repertoire features classical, folk and sacred music. Singing works from many ethnic sources that have a male voice tradition, Cantorion Sydney brings to the harbourside city the rich traditions of European music. The men in the choir come from many countries, including France, England, America, Germany, Russia, Croatia, Italy, Serbia, Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales. Proud of their ethnicity, the singers enjoy sharing their country’s music and language – enabling Cantorion Sydney to expand and develop its unique repertoire. As it builds towards its goal of 60 members, the choir warmly welcomes new singers.
