Sydney Welsh Community Newsletter - Llais

Our newsletter – Llais - is designed and published under a sponsorship deal with the dynamic Sydney graphic design and online agency Wide Media.

Llais aims to provide members with up-to-date news about events of interest in the Welsh and Celtic communities, together with reports on notable recent gatherings.

 Reports in the latest edition included:

  • the new sponsorship arrangement with Wide Media, which also includes sponsorship and maintenance of our new website;
  • the award of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) to the ever-smiling Welshman Clive Woosnam, who recently retired as president of Sydney Welsh Choir after 19 years at the helm and who remains president of the Dylan Thomas Society;
  • photographs and words highlighting the Wales and Welshness of the highly successful Celtic Festival at Glen Innes;
  • a riveting article by Sydney Morning Herald reporter Malcolm Brown reporting upon the “charabanc outing” to Caves Beach, near Newcastle, organised by the Dylan Thomas Society. (reprinted with the kind permission of the SMH);
  • highlights of the concert performances by Sydney Welsh Choir and Cantorion Sydney; and three versions of a new logo design for Sydney Welsh Society, giving members the opportunity to indicate their preference.
